A "thank you" to my friend Jason H, who gave me more growing up than I ever realized at the time.
Me an' Jason H
Me an' Jason H at El No Pal
Just a couple beers away from hell
Fightin' over who is gonna drive
Which of us can keep us both alive.
Me an' Jason H are getting' hot
While we argue in the parking lot
Jason he gets out and walks away
Then I pick him up and it's okay.
Jason he's a true son of the South
Every time he opens up his mouth
Jason's not afraid to make a joke
Jason's not afraid to drink and smoke
Me I'm from the Northern side of town
Never had a chance to run around
Bein' friends is sorta like a game
He'll put up with me, I'll do the same.
Blak mak mah and all that rot you know
Hail and well met that's the greeting of the pirate
Life's an inside joke between my friend and me
Life is fun long as you're not bitter about it
Me and J we never make the scene
Cruise down to the end of Spur 14
Hangin' in his cabin, feelin' free
Out back of his parents' property.
Ain't a lot to do but shoot the breeze
Talkin' 'bout romantic casualties
Him and me we both think we're the stuff
But the ladies don't so life is rough
Blak mak mah…
Brother Brett comes in and we all get into it
Each of us has got to have his own say
Wildfires under the rain-colored moonlight
Dreams get farther away every day.
Me an' Jason H and Brother Brett
Haven't got our lives together yet
You can be the minute we grow up
Gonna seize the day and win the cup
Sharin' tales of when we get our due
Until then there ain't that much to do
So we sit around and dream our dreams
And everything's as pleasant as it seems
Blak mak mah…
